We were very happy and pleased to be invited to supply our white Weber Baby grand piano for the Gala Spectacular in aide of The Woking Hospice. The event raised £21,000 for the hospice. Performers on the night at Wokings New Vic Theatre included Bobby Davro, Kenny Lynch, Lee Mack and others.

The man who claimed to have "had lots of piano lessons, but never knew what was Beethoven's this or Beethoven's that" Mr. Henry Steinway has died aged 93. He was the last to be still running the family piano making company in 1853. He was recorded to have taken a day and a half to accomplish what factories could in four hours. This displayed his care and attention to detail that is so often taken for granted nowadays. Carrying on the tradition which made Steinway, as a name, synonymous with elegance and prestige - an art of true piano making that will always be remembered.

Handel Pianos sponsored the Woking Pianothon which took place in the mall in Wolsey Place, Woking on Saturday 15th March 2008. The event was organised by Local Teacher Sue Hamilton in conjunction with The Woking Hospice and the Young Musicians Trust. It was a fabulous day with over 60 pianists of all ages and abilities playing a lovely Bluthner Grand Piano and a Toyo Upright piano. Sue then presented all participants with a certificate on the day and the response from the general public was excellent with people really getting into the spirit of the performances. The Mayor and Mayoress of Woking were in attendance and the local press. Several videos were made which are already on U Tube and various piano sites. I think Sue Hamilton should be commended for organising a superb day Well Done!

No not the royal family! in fact the piano that used to belong to Freddie Mercury and is now owned by Brian May. Not just any piano of course but a Steinway concert grand which incidentally has had a small amount of restoration work. Now how much would that one be worth at auction??
