Here we have a Essex upright piano, the entry line of pianos by the world famous Steinway & Sons manufacturer.

At 111cm tall, this is a compact piano that won't dominate a smaller room, yet still has the full 88 key range and a third (practice pedal) for quiter playing.

This particular example is finished in an attractive polished mahogany case with brass fitting's, and being a fairly small piano it still features the traditional style front leg supports, not the legless 'contemporary' style often found on small modern uprights.

Certainly better than your typical starter piano, this piano has a decent sturdy feel to the action, a softer tone than your typical Japanese piano, so this is a great starting point for that European sound and feel without spending at least double!
