The W Hoffmann T 177 is the middle of three sizes available in W Hoffmann's popular "Tradition" series of grand pianos. These solidly constructed instruments are produced in the Czech Republic by C Bechstein Europe, a member of the C Bechstein Family, the famous German piano manufacturer who are one of the oldest and most respected makers in the world. The W Hoffmann T 177 represents an excellent European built alternative to popular Japanese models from the likes of Yamaha and Kawai etc.

The W Hoffmann "Tradition" range of upright and grand pianos are designed in Germany and are built using upgraded materials when compared to the entry level "Vision" series, many of which are the exact same components used in the range topping C Bechstein pianos. This significantly improves the levels of power and control that can be achieved when compared to a lower grade piano of similar dimensions. Due to being located as the mid point in the "Tradition" range size-wise, the W Hoffmann T 177 manages to strike a good balance between performance and price, and, most importantly for many potential owners, at five foot eight in length the instrument isn't so large that it becomes impractical for those with smaller homes or looks overly dominant in the room.
